Time For A New Case (Again)

Go to solution Solved by WoodenMarker,

In Switzerland, I mostly use these sites:

http://www.steg-electronics.ch/de/Default.aspx

https://www.digitec.ch/Startseite.aspx

The first one is in german, the secon one has english.

How's this look? http://www.steg-electronics.ch/de/article/coolermaster-silent-pro-m2-620w-173535.aspx

(So expensive  )

Hello Folks!

So, I bought the 350D about 2 months ago.

The case is perfectly fine, and it is pretty good for it's size. BUT, I can't stand the noise.  I'm only running the intake fan, and the fans from CPU/GPU cooler. And it is still too loud for me.

I'm really sensitive when it comes to sound, i can hear everything even a mosquito flying away 10 meters from me. :P

Anyway, I^m now searching a good, quiet case for 150$ max.

It needs to fit

ATX/M-ATX

Window is optional, not really necessaryfor me

good looking, (I know that not everyone has the same taste)

Significantly quiet <--most IMPORTANT, seriously I hate noise. :P I don't really care for temps, since I run my CPU at 4Ghz (3570k) ans my GPU is just slighty overclocked.

Thanks! :)

I doubt a quiet case will help noise that much. It'll just muffle the sound.

I suggest getting quieter fans or something.

Is the define R4 quiet enough?  Is it dampend?

Yes it is, has noise dampening foam everywhere.

There is a reason the R4 is pretty much THE case these days, its pretty much unbeatable.

a quiet optimized case will dampen the sounds, your compuer is only as loud as your loudest part.

I'm using Corsair AF quiet edition fan running @500-800RPM this is the only one I use.

Well, my loudest parts is most likely my CPU cooler or the PSU (CM 212 and Corsair cx600)

Is it dampened with sound foam thingy. I don't know if its gonna be quite enough since I never heard it, but people do claim it to be very quite. Still if you cam hear a mosquito 10 meters away, i am afraid there will be no case quite enough for you!

Double check everything, I am usually wrong.

I was obviously overexaggerating a little. ^^

But still, I^m pretty damn sensitive, If i had the money I would replace my HDDonly for SSD's ^^'

I disagree.

For example a computer with a gpu at 100% fan speed is the same as a computer with the same gpu but also with 10 more fans at 70%!

If what you said is correct then they would be the same since the second computer is only as loud as it's gpu! (The loudest component)

Don't replace the case.

Replace the fans.

Which one? The one from the CPU coller ot the fan I'm using as intake?

CPU cooler is 212 stock fan and intake fan is CORSAIR AF quiet edition running at 500-800 RPM.

Whcih fan would you recommend for my CPU fan? I still have 2 SP's laying around and 5 AF's, should I use one of those?

Well if hes using the stock fan, its pretty much silent if you lower the speed of it to like 50%

Replace the ones that are loud. Run your system and use your hand to stop the fans to see which ones are making the noise.

Uhh, use the SP and see how low you can get the rpm on it! Guarantee it will be far quiter then that stupid 212 generic fan!
