ASUS GTX 1070 DUAL OC vs EVGA GTX 1080 SC ACX 3.0

Go to solution Solved by Jurrunio,

The Asus card (from what I can see through my case) lacks many features, like zero-fan, varying fan speed between fans, only one light (an LEDbehind the PCB, tells whether the PCIe connector's plugged in) and no backplate. It might have the right color scheme, but it has next to no extra features.

So today I got two graphics cards I'm wavering between.

One is the sexy white ASUS GTX 1070 DUAL OC, which would fit amazingly in my white / black build.

Two is the insanely fast and reliable EVGA GTX 1080 SC ACX 3.0, which probably wouldn't make a difference in my build, but could look weird in person.

Here is what I'm looking for basically to determine which one is more fit for me.

Price Per Performance (PPP)

1080p 144hz Ready on games like:

PUBG

GTA V

The new Mount and Blade [lol forgot what it was called, Warbanner?]

And some spicy titles you guys are looking forward to.

Overall sexy in a White / Black Build

Which graphics card runs cooler.

And some other stuff you guys might remember that is important.

Fits into Budget of $1500-$1600

Thanks;

Shane

Just in case you guys wanted it.

Compare them like you would a Pros / Cons list and determine which one is better overall.

1080 is better than 1070 because... it is just better? If you can go with 1080 then do it. Really, the only con is the price if you have to stretch your budget.

Well, I'm playing at 1080p 144hz, and I heard the 1070 can do it, and it fits well with my color scheme, I can get the 1080 but it'd be farther into the school year and I want some summer to game on a beastly computer.

@shiggy

Really comes down to what games you play. I played with GTX 1060 on 165Hz 1440p for half a year and it was barely enough on High/Medium settings in most games.

1070 could probably push 144FPS on 1080p on High in most games but for Ultra you would still need the 1080.

For e-sports games it doesn't really matter though.

If only the GALAX 1080 wasn't so limited I'd be case closed on the 1080, does the EVGA 1080 look white / black in person.

From side and top it is B&W with LED disabled (which you can do)

From bottom (around the fans) it is gray/silver-ish
