RAM RECCOMANDATION

Get a 1600 instead of the 1500X and get an AsRock or ASUS board. MSI boards for Ryzen have a lot of issues. For RAM get 16GB and 3000MHz, because faster RAM helps with Ryzen ;)

get a 1600, don't use msi boards, and get 16GB also get 3000mhz

The 1500x has double the cache and so is slightly faster, if not be much even when overclocked. (it's the one x CPU which might be worth getting over the non x version. (excluding TR as that's all xs and makes sense for the applications it is being aimed at))

 

as for RAM get a 16GB kit, but frequency matters so  get as high of frequency as possible, as for what kind I can't say for sure what RAM is confirmed to work with your motherboard, so I can't help there sorry.
