What to do with EVGA Z270 Classified K?

I won this motherboard in a recent EVGA giveaway and I'm wondering what to do with it. I currently have an ASUS ROG Maximus VIII Hero and a 6700K.

Can I use the new motherboard with the 6700K?

And should I replace it?

Yes you can use your 6700k with the z270 board. With that you can also upgrade to any 7xxx cpu if needed with all the features.

 

It's on you to change the board, or put it on the shelf as spare part... or if you are happy and don't think about going for a 7xxx cpu sell it.

if i'm correct, z270 supports 6th and 7th gen cpu's. you can replace your current one with it if you like the look of it more.

IMO it looks nicer than the ROG Maximus VIII Hero. If you use it, you have the capability to get Kaby Lake cpus in the future, which is always nice. If you don't plan on it, sell it. Assuming it's unused and still in box, you might be able to get up to 300 USD for it. You could probably net some cash to go towards upgrading your GPU (I see from your account you're on a 1060 right now.)

Yes you can use it. Decide which one you like better and leave the other one on a shelf.

Just sell it, the ASUS board looks way better in my opinion and there's no reason to upgrade from the 6700k to the 7700k making using a z270 board useless.

It will work fine with it, up to you if you want to use it or not.

Probably won't upgrade to kaby lake. But do you know if the 8th generation of intel cpu's will work with this mobo? I've seen articles saying it will and that it won't

New box art looks sikk tho. Says on left hand side "Requires Intel 300 Series chipset-based motherboard."

Thanks for clarifying. Probably won't upgrade to these processors either as the 6700k will be more than good enough for a few more years
