Upgrading my CPU

Hello, I know this is probably a cliche question around about now, but I was wonder which Ryzen Cpu's would be a viable upgrade from an AMD 8350. 

 

e.g upgrading to a Ryzen 5 1500x would be an upgrade, but it would be minor in my opinion.

What do you mean by viable and anything is a upgrade compared to the 8350

Even the r3 1300x is probably an upgrade from your 8350, but I would say that the best value lies in the r5 1600x

ofcourse this highly depends on what you use the system for. do you really need all those cores the 1700/1800 offer, or would a 1600 suffice?

Mainly I would use it for gaming and be making graphics

It seems the 1500x is only about 10-20% faster than your 8350 so no it wouldn't be a very worth while upgrade.

If you're going to upgrade a cpu make it a 50-100% upgrade otherwise you won't see a lot of "to the naked eye" performance increase.
