I'm looking to buy a mechanical keyboard, but am distraught on what to buy.

The features that are necessary are:

  • Volume scroll wheel
  • Full size keyboard, with numpad
  • Cherry MX Blues or Browns

With the optional features I want being:

  • Made of aluminium/steel
  • Extra macro keys
  • RGB lighting
  • Wrist wrest

I'm willing to pay around $150 AUD ($120 USD) but am willing to go higher if the keyboard has extra features.

I've looked at several keyboards with the main three I've been interested in being the Corsair K70 RGB with brown switches, but it's priced at $180 AUD ($140 USD) which I'm not sure if I'm willing to pay for or not even though it has all the features I want except for extra macro keys.

The other main keyboard I found was the G710/G710+ which have all the features I want except for RGB lighting and being made of aluminium, however it only costs $70 AUD ($55 USD) which is a hell of a lot cheaper than the K70 for what seems like only minor features missing.

The final keyboard I found was the G-Skill RipJaws KM 780 which has all of the features I want at a price only $10 more than the K70 $190 ($140 USD) but, it has too much of a gamery look to it with ugly metal bars on the side that look like they will just take up extra desk space.

If you have any recommendation on any of the keyboards I listed or other keyboards, I'd love to hear it. Thanks

Have you looked at the Logitech G610? https://www.pccasegear.com/products/35036/logitech-g610-orion-backlit-mech-keyboard-cherry-brown.

It's priced at $140 and it suits most of your criteria. However it's only available with a white led backlight

It's $140 with plain white LED's, if I were to get the K70 or KM 780 in plain red led's it's around the same price with more features.

Corsair Keyboards are the best IMO look at a few of them and you will find what you want, also comes with a wrist rest

I am using G710+ now. Can tell the plastic isn't cheap and very durable.

The light levels are adjustable and Logitech Gaming Software is nice.

How long have you had it? Apparently a lot of people have issues with the wear and tear over time.
