This ram OK for a gaming PC build?

If you get this RAM, you'll need to be comfortable going into the BIOS and manually setting it to 3000MHz (well actually 2933). This isn't hard to do, look it up there's loads of information on it.

I wouldn't even call this an upgrade, unless you have 8GB 2133Mhz DDR4 currently.

Your motherboard has a RAM support chart, it is a good idea to check if the RAM is listed there. Also you have not told us what hardware you will use with the RAM, so it is pretty hard to say if it will work.

I am upgrading to a Ryzen 1500x cpu and the motherboard is an MSI B350m. I just want to know if it is too good to be true and if it will game OK? Thanks :)

overpriced its 2 16 gb of ram thats crazy cheap even for how slow it is

no for ryzen way to slow get 3000 also why not get a 1600 its really worth the extra $$$$

But seriously, for Ryzen and games, 16GB of fast RAM is all you need. More capacity and faster than 3200Mhz are wasting money.

Hey easy with the caps lock... Also no, you wouldn't. AM4 supports up to 2400MHz. Anything after is on a per motherboard basis and is "overclocked" so not guaranteed.

Actually you're right, my mistake. BIOS default is 2133.

 

For a user that seemingly isn't very aware of anything to do with RAM other than capacity, it's probably a good idea to mention the fact you manually will need to change it in the BIOS.
