Cannot connect to QNAP NAS

I'm working on a QNAP NAS (TS-231) that suddenly went offline (don't ask why, the peeps who I set the network up for have a really hanky situation and know basically nothing about computers, so even if they did something to it, they wouldn't know what). No computers on the network (assorted PCs) can see it, other than my MacBook Pro. I can see it in the Qfinder Pro app and view network settings, but not change any of them. It shows up under Network in Finder, but I can't connect. I've tried connecting to it via ethernet directly, ethernet to the router (It's also plugged into the router, swapped out cables for a known working one), wifi, eerythang I could think of. Everything is plugged in like normal, all the lights and beeps are normal, etc. Any more ideas?

Maybe it's having trouble getting an IP from the DHCP server (resulting it using a 169.254.x.x ip). Is there anyway of getting the NAS' MAC Address so you can manually assign an IP to the NAS?

It's IP should manually be set to 192.168.5.xxx. I think I can see the MAC address, and Wireshark shows it's still getting accessed. Can't ping it either though.

Just read online to just quick resetting it by holding the reset button for 3 seconds

Only thing is, I saw somewhere it can sometimes wipe the data, and this is all their business stuff (they run a magazine, and everything is on this NAS, and I don't trust the backup drive much).

Hmmm.... Lemme see if I can do that (the antivirus is managed in the cloud, I may have to disable it from there).

or making an exception to the 192.168.5.x address of the NAS
