I am worried because people say that the PUMP need to be 100% speed all the time. I didnt notice my h60 to be noisy when the pump is on 100% constant 4000rpm

I feel like I answer this question on a weekly basis...

In a nutshell, 3-pin into CPU header and set at 100 % DC mode. Fan control should be done through Corsair Link software. Pump only has 2 preset speed, silent or performance.

Hi guys i just upgraded upgraded my h60 to the h100i v2.

1. where exactly do i need to connect the pump cables? currently its connected like this

  • 3pin = cpu_fan
  • y connectors = 2 fans on the radiator
  • link cable = usb header (only thing im sure)

2. where to i set the pump to 100% speed, MOBO = asus z97-a

3. I have evga 750 g3, can i plug the pump there? some people say it has to be connected there and NOT to the MOBO

thanks in advance

Bios for fan control/fan curve

I tried at full speed but it only reached to 1900ish rpm, i thought it was gonna go to 4000rpm like my old h60

Not sure what you mean by pump cables

yeah coz it has 3 cables 1. 3pin 2. Y split thingy connector

That does not help.

Different fans different Max rpm.

100% sure on the h60 it was reaching 4000rpm

not sure on then h100i v2, coz its only reaching 1900+rpm

That's because the pump will speed up and slow down based on temps.  You can go into BIOS and set whatever fan header that you plugged it into to run at 100% if you want and they you will see the same max speed.

You can also run your AIO fans straight to the motherboard fan headers as well if you want to control those with BIOS.

Good luck.

It isn't the h60 though, there's nothing to worry about with the pump it doesn't need to be at 100% it just needs to ramp up when the temps get high there's nothing going to break or something stupid like that it'll just pump as much as is needed and in heave loads it'll be at 80-100%

thank you.. but i have another problem, there is another fan showing MB fan #2. im pretty sure of MB fan #1 coz i plugged that into the chasis fan header. below i dunno what it its. as you can see i position the boxes like it was inside the system. what is that mb fan #2? it stays on 970+ RPM even under stressed.

Hard to say without information about your full specs and what is plugged in where.

I wouldn't worry about it to be honest, if it were me though.

MOBO = asus z97-a

CPU = 4790k @ 4.5 1.210v

Hi, turns out that that fan CL thats detecting is the CPU_FAN (see fan no. 2) it matches the RPM on the CL this also matches the CPU_FAN (set on DC full speed) on the bios

My question is, is that normal?

I think its fine, to me it sounds like the pump is not reporting back via the 3-pin that it is spinning at 2k rpm back to the motherboard. I'm not sure how reporting back of rpm works in DC mode, so I assume this is why you get a reading that isn't the same as your pump speed.

Nothing to worry about, keep calm and carry on :)
