Hey everyone, as you can see this is my first post, so I guess you could say I'm new here. After watching Linus' ultimate diy desk pc I was inspired to build my own, but with hard tubing. I should have no issue building the desk and putting it together, but unlike Linus I plan on planning everything out before hand to make sure I can build the desk to the right dimensions. So far I have created a pretty bad sketch up of how I think I am gonna do the custom water cooling loop. I am definetely not the most experienced in this field so I need some help seeing i my diagram will work right or if it needs some tuning, so just let me know. IMG_0542.thumb.PNG.2df11490c234c60c901dca8c2721d095.PNG

linus had planned it. anyway to make sure stuff fits get the dimensions of every piece you'll be putting in and get everything to scale. not just rough sketch. then you can start moving stuff around seeing what you like

Primary System

  • CPU
    Ryzen R6 5700X
  • Motherboard
    MSI B350M mortar arctic
  • RAM
    32GB Corsair RGB 3600MT/s CAS18
  • GPU
    Zotac RTX 3070 OC
  • Case
    kind of a mess
  • Storage
    WD black NVMe SSD 500GB & 1TB samsung Sata ssd & x 1TB WD blue & x 3TB Seagate
  • PSU
    corsair RM750X white
  • Display(s)
    1440p 21:9 100Hz

I thought about doing it this way. But I think it will be better to lay the parts out get everything in the place I want it, then measure everything out and build the desk to house the pc instead of the other way around. I would just like to know if the way I setup that loop is practical.

yeah it looks pretty good. but you know all the sizes are standard and are common easy to find information. and it's quite a bit harder than you think to eyeball the cuts with a flat board and parts on it

Ok cool thank you for the help. I am going to get all the measurements and draw out a real scale diagram to see what I come up with, then I should know my dimensions to start building off of.

you know what they say. it's better to measure 10 times than to have to recut. even if it's really annoying to have to do all this prework

Ohh yeah definetely. I enjoy doing this as it ensures everything fits right and it gives me something to do for the next few days.
