Finally saved up for my own PC

ladal1

So, I finally got enough saved up to buy a good computer for myself.

The rig is expected to be able to handle games for next few years at decent details while keeping framerates high on both my current monitor (1080p 60Hz) and ulltrawide at 144Hz I plan on buying next year. The computer is also going to be used for occasional 3D modelling and Premiere rendering, but these are not the main focus.

I sketched this up for myself, and now I'm looking for some feedback because I have not been in the high end for a while since most people I built PCs for wanted budget builds.

https://pcpartpicker.com/list/9MMMkT

I am from Czech Republic so the parts are highly dependent on current prices here and the availability. I went for a clean black and white look because I simply like it. My estimate is that what I have saved up is equivalent to around 1600$, and I won't need any peripherals.

So my main questions:

  1. Should I look into ryzen, buy kaby lake or wait for coffee lake?
  2. GTX 1060 // 1070 // 1080 or maybe Vega? (average 1070 and cheaper 1080, like the one selected are priced quite close here so I went for it)
  3. Any other ideas?

Don't get a 7600K, get a Ryzen 5 1600 with a B350 board. It's much better ;)

For the GPU, just get the 1080.

Okay, I took the Shiv78 build and tried to fit it to what I can get here, and I think I will go with it,

changed the MB to MSI Tomahawk arctic AM4

Went with the M.2 I had in my previous because there is not one better priced to get.

otherwise its all Shiv78 posted

Thanks for all the help guys, this is exactly why I posted, I have no Ryzen experience and while my previous rig is running AMD I still thought Intel might be better choice, so thanks for correcting

MSI's boards for Ryzen have some issues, but I think the one you picked is the ONLY one that doesn't!

good luck, and tag me in the build log [  @Shiv78 ]so I can see it!

@Shiv78  Sure thanks for help

One more question maybe, thinking about buying 1060 instead of the 1080 and saving a bit through that. However since I have been quite out of the loop I have no real Idea how the latest nvidia line performs against each other. Any thoughts?

Do not hurry up if buying the PC is not urgent, at 21. of August Coffee Lake will be revealed you may consider that as well. I am also planning to get a new rig in 2 months but I was more like going for ryzen 7. And in my opinion you can save couple thousands of CZK with buying the graphics card second hand from bazos.cz, some people are selling their graphics card quite low prices with almost full(3years) warranty. And also check czc.cz too it usually has better prices than alza

If you have plans of a 2560x1080p Ultrawide at 144Hz then 1060 won't cut it. I would recommend at LEAST a 1080, but if it's too much you might be able to scrape 100fps at med settings on a 1070 at least for the next year or so worth of games.

@Shiv78  Alright I will probably check in again before I buy it all (in about a month) if any parts stop being available, and will post the build log once I will build it, already prepared to spend way too much time on beautifying it.

One more thing I started to consider right now, thinking about buying 1600X instead of 1600, is it worth it?
