Hey,

I just recently upgraded from a 960 to a 1080 and have been thinking that my cpu is bottlenecking my gpu as on games such as csgo i have seen about 30fps increase but in pubg i have seen 80fps improvements. I ran a cinebench test for my gpu (got a score of 103fps) and was wondering the following things:

  1. If the cpu affects the gpu banchmark;
  2. If not, why the score is low  compared to other 1080 cards.

I was thinking if i should get a i7-7700k or wait for coffee lake. Just need some advice :)

Thanks.

CPU: i5-4690

The cinebench GPU test isn't a very good metric. The CPU is pretty much the factor for the GPU test. Fast single thread with your 1080 would give a good result. Slow i5 and 1080 = not very fast.

Use Superposition or 3DMark bench tools.

I think its safe to assume he meant the i5 4690

Yep and the i5 bottle necks the 1080 so just wait to upgrade
