Depends on the gear I'm testing.

If I'm testing speaker I usually use various test LPs that I've picked up over the years.

They're usually cheap and contain a wide varity of music and/or sounds that are made for testing.

When it comes to just general testing I do have certain songs that I do like to play.

The songs aren't really picked due to them being pefectly recorded or mastered, but ultimatly picked to my familiarity with the material.

This is also what I would reocmmend that you do. Don't test your equiptment with music other people recommend you.

Test your gear with music that you know and that you are familiar with.

Ingonyama - Ace Ventura, Juno Reactor  (got a really strange moment near the start where it sweeps through the frequncies before the drop. Normally skip it shortly after the first drop)
A Milli - Lil Wayne (Low frequncies)
The Way You Move - OutKast (I like the song and got a nice beat)
Brickhouse - Commendors (Slapa da' bass)
You Can Call Me Al - Paul Simon (Duuuh Duh Duh Duh)
Beautiful Day- U2 (Its a beautiful daaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay)
Children of the Revoloution - T.Rex (my dad wouldnt aprove if i didnt play it)
My Number - Foals (first band I toured with, my favorite song know it very well)

Then by this point I normally just play the playlist with all the songs I enjoy from artists Ive worked with just for the feels.
