Will this work?

So my house needs a new WiFi solution. I was thinking mesh since that probably easiest. But will the amplifi hd work for my ~7000 square foot house? Also, how does adding mesh points to your existing router work. I could do that, but how much square feet does a point cover? I know the whole set covers up to 2000? (I think)

How many floors are there in your house, and what materials are the walls? (Drywall? Plaster? Concrete? Brick? Etc...)

3 floors, drywall mainly.

Check out the Netgear Orbi, it's a fair amount more range, while still maintaining 802.11AC compatibility.

Placed on the middle floor I'd guess it'd reach just about everywhere. If not, you can get an add-on satellite and expand the mesh.

It's also twice the price for the 3 pack tho. Which I'd probably need. Would the ubiquiti work well? Or is there something else around the same price?

I'm not sure. The ubiquiti has the LR model (Long range) which says it can reach up to 20,000 sq. ft, though I'm not too sure how accurate those claims are. https://amplifi.com/docs/AmpliFi_LR_QSG.pdf

You could try that and if it doesn't work then return it and try something else.

the HD one is High Density. It likely just offers higher speeds, and significantly reduced range. Not quite something that'd be good in your situation. The other one might work great though.

Are you trying to use multiple AP's or something like Google's mesh solution where its wireless between the different units?

I just want to sit back and watch the world burn.

I currently have multiple APs and it could work just that 2 out of three of them suck lol. I was thinking of the amplifi hd/lr, it's a mesh system

Your better off with multiple APs connected via wire to the router. You dont want wireless links between the main router and satellite units. If it were mean and I had AP's wired up already Id just pick up a couple of Ubiquiti AP's that had the speed I wanted.
