Hi ! I'm going to buy a new pc, and i'm wondering if i should wait for coffee lake (with the 6 cores). I only want to play games, i don't render or anything (so please no "GO RYZEN") and i play on 1080p 144Hz, so that's why i choose intel. There's the question : should i buy a I7 7700K or wait for I7 8700K?

yh but i'm wondering if it's going to be a real jump in the cpu market, not like what they do since 5 years, because there'll be 6 cores. And if i wait, i still dunno if it's gonna be worth since all the 6 cores cpu from intel are worse in gaming than the 7700K.

You obviously should wait, it's just 2 more weeks tops and you'll be paying the exact same for those extra 2 "free" cores that games WILL take advantage of.

No the i7 8700k is literally an i7 7700k but with extra 2 cores, your single core performance will still the highest in the market, I sold my old i7 3970x in anticipation to buy this CPU in particularly, it'll be a gaming beast.
