Upgrade from i3 4330 to 4790K or switch to R5 1600X?

Go to solution Solved by Damascus,

Don't buy the 4790k new, they go for sub $150 sometimes

I haven't been here in a while but it feels good to be back. xD

Do I upgrade my i3 4330 in a Z87 motherboard to a 4790K and get 16 GB of DDR3, or do I get a new B350 motherboard for a Ryzen 5 1600X and 16GB of DDR4? Hmmm...I'm really just looking for opinions because what I'm trying get for my finished result is 16GB of RAM, at least a 6GB GTX 1060 (hopefully the R9 390 stays on sale), and at least 2x the CPU either Intel or AMD. It looks like I might go AMD right now, but, I do want to hear what you guys have to say and if there are incentives to stay Intel and DDR3 besides saving about $70?

Here are the two lists of parts I am comparing for this AMD vs Intel "decision" lol:

OK, yeah, even if I spend $200 on a used 4790K, I'm still saving a total of $200, so, thanks guys, I'm definitely going to go that route.
