R3 1200 vs R5 1400

I want to build inside the Node 202 which has a cooler limitation of 56mm. The Wraith Stealth cooler fits perfectly into that limitation at 53.4mm tall (quote from AMD Customer Service https://smallformfactor.net/forum/threads/wraith-stealth-height.1952/)

 

So which of the CPU that use this cooler should I consider getting? The R5 1400 only seems to offer an extra 4 cores and I'm still using 4c,4t CPU today. What sort of applications would warrant seeking those additional 4 threads? Is there any kinds of games that enjoy more than 4 threads?

In the future if you upgrade your GPU, a R3 will not keep up, while a R5 will. Right now most games will run on an R3 but photo/video editing and other creative work should benefit from a R5.

Most games that support Dx12 or Vulcan.Here's a list.

You do know that more cores/threads actually increases FPS in CSGO right? 

Shows it pretty well that generally more cores/threads in CSGO will increase its FPS (ignoring how HT would actually decrease FPS).

Also Source games are bad examples.CS:GO on some config's increase FPS when the settings are turned up

Not really? Your original post states how CSGO needs to be ported to source 2 before CSGO gets FPS increases from more cores/threads however it already does that in OG source so...

Even pubg runs on 6 cores now, minimum get a 1400 though if you had the budget I'd say 1600.

My problem is that the 1600 has the wraith spire which can only fit if you take the fan off. I've actually had people confirm that you can make the spire fit in the node 202 with slimmer fans such as the Cryorig C7's I was hoping for something working out of the box personally. Ofcourse I could try the RVZ01-e which has up to 83mm cooler clearance.

Honestly I'm not sure what to recommend, what is the budget?
