Disgustingly high RAM usage

Hey there, second post here.

I've had my good old hp laptop with it's Intel HD 4000 graphics and dual core i5 3230m processor with a 2.6ghz clockspeed for about 4 years and it's served me quite well in my journey of PC gaming (not really) but recently it's become god awful for some apparent reason. Every game I played stuttered and a game I play often, Rocket League, was pretty much unstable. I did a ghetto benchmark on Minecraft to see if it was my computer or just the game somehow but even Minecraft was stuttering like crazy so I decided to see if it was my CPU or Memory and turns out it definitely is my Memory as it runs a constant %80-90 usage on idle, I checked what's taking up so much on my task manager and it seems to be just my system. Is this normal? I wouldn't be surprised if it's time to dedicate a funeral for this thing. Here are some screenshots:

In your images it looks like that system process is using 80MB of 8GB. 1% of system ram is trivial for a service host to use. What else is using the "86%" of used Ram in your system?

Chrome? Sort by RAM usage please.

This is what it's like on idle, without any programs running and is sorted by usage (it only gets higher with Chrome running)

As for this I seriously am not sure, on idle it says it takes up 80mb but is still the thing that takes up most RAM according to task manager

Likely because you have dozens and dozens of processes taking up less than 80mb each. Browser tabs and random running programs might take up very little each, but add up to enough to clog the system up.

Hmm, is there any way to mass disable them? As I'm not sure what's important and what's not.

No, depends on what they all are. Processes like windows defender and random background services for apps on your computer can be disabled, but a decent amount of tasks are windows background ones that can't be disabled without reduced functionality of your computer.

I think it will turn up empty, but try running Malwarebytes and ADWcleaner.

EDIT: As a last resort, maybe try and reinstall Windows?

I'll give this a try, thanks! Although I'm fairly certain I don't have any malware as I did a full scan on my laptop not too long ago.

Have you restarted the PC?

Sometimes a program has a memory leak and eats a lot of ram. And a reset will fix it if you can't find d the application that did it.

On the right track, I would specify if it still occurs to go into msconfig, disable all the non-microsoft services and startup programs, then restart.  Re-enable one service at a time and see if one of those is a memory hog.

I've managed to fix it with a program that kelvinhall (user above) suggested. RAM usage has decreased quite a lot now. Thanks for the suggestion though!
