SLI and m.2 PCIe SSD on 7700k

I am planning to build a new gaming rig in a little while. I was planning to use a 7700k, but then i heard that only has 16 lanes. Will that be a bottleneck if i am going to have two 1080ti in SLI, in addition to a m.2 pcie ssd. Will i need to step up to x99 for the more threads? I plan to use the pc for gaming and not any editing. I will be using the Asus ROG Maximus IX Hero motherboard.

That motherboard has 2 PCIe x16 slots. Use of the M.2 socket does not affect either one. So your good to go. The M.2 socket will use lanes dedicated for the sata ports, so it may disable two of them.

Best Excuses:

#1(simple) "Well, I never liked that stupid thing anyway!"

#2(complex) "Obviously there was a flaw in the material, probably due to the inadvertent introduction of contaminants during the manufacturing process."
