Quiet Ryzen 5 build

Hi Guys,

I'm looking to build a new rig, mostly for gaming in 1440p. No real budget but I'm trying to be sensible!

I want it to be mid sized, quiet and not run too hot.

Decided on components:

Fractal Design C case (clear side)

Ryzen 5 1600x

Corsair Vengeance LPX (2x8GB) DDR4 3000MHz

ASUS ROG STRIX B350-F

EVGA SuperNOVA 650 gold fully modular

Currently have a r9 290x, that'll be in there until I can afford an upgrade (Waiting to get UK prices on RX Vega)

Components in question:

Noctua NH15 SE-AM4 (with only one fan?)/ orNoctua NH-U12S SE-AM4 ?

Additional noctua front case fan(s)? 120/140 ?

What do you think? Best fan layout?

Ta :)

Good choice on the components. Consider making sure the PSU is semi-passive (meaning it doesn't spin unless under heavy load), likewise for the GPU (Asus STRIX cards for example).

Pick the cooler based on whether or not you plan to OC.

Go for 140 fans because being larger means they can move more air at a slower RPM (less noise) install the noctua Low Noise Adapters. As for the setup I'd go 1/2 at the front as intake and 1 at the back for exhaust. That way the air that is exhausted from the CPU cooler will be removed from the case straight away.

Get a massive aircooler like the DH15 and run it fanless

Update #1

Now looking at semi-passive PSUs but they're very expensive / have worrying reviews

Think I'm going to go with the NH-15 & forgo the front fan

Will get an extra noctua 140 to go in the front, keep the two existing case fans in - change them if they're loud

EVGA G2 is a passive PSU lol. Fan won't spin unless it gets hot enough, etc. They just call it ECO Mode.
