GTX 1070/1080 or AMD VEGA?

I have a freesync Monitor and the money to either buy a GTX 1070 or Wait for VEGA. Thoughts?

wait for vega benchmarks then decide they are right round the corner, vega could be great and it could be shit we don't know at the moment and won't properly till the embargo lifts and we can actually see what it can do

Just using an exchange rate calculator turn $410 into your currency and then round up by about. (extra $10 just so your probably over because they might change more because reasons)

Yeah here in Sweden the prices of the remaining GTX 1070s are $581. If the vega is really even anymore near $410 then we will see. Although it is weird why the gtx 1070 prices are so sky high

No, all monitors work with all cards with the proper and supported connections.

 

You just don't get one of the main benefits, and that's adaptive sync via g-sync/freesync.

oh, that's what I meant. I know monitors work with any cards in general but those freesync monitors aren't exactly cheap so why not just get a amd gpu that supports that freesync?

That's exactly it.

 

To me, even if the equivalent card from the other camp is getting a few more frames, it'll be choppier than the card that supports the monitor's adaptive sync.

 

Fast forward a couple of years, and you'll be wishing you had the adaptive sync enabled when your card isn't performing as well in modern titles.

Vega 56 is competing against the 1070, the Vega 64 the 1080.

Thats cool, I just bought my new Viewsonic XG2401 Freesync monitor and got no GPU to enjoy it. So these upcoming weeks will be tough. And if the AMD 56 leaked benches are all fake...
