Well, Threadripper is 27 days away as I am writing this. The 1950x is a 16 core 32 thread behemoth that is ideal for 3D artists, editors, and other professionals.

I've originally was going to go for the mighty R7 1700, but Threadripper's pricing made me consider this processor. My budget was originally 3k, but I feel like this build is worth the extra cost.

Those coolers that are compatible with Threadripper aren't something that I want to use because it doesn't cover the whole IHS, so by the time I get my money in, hopefully there'll be more options.

VEGA seems like a card I would benefit with because I would be using 3D programs extensively and I deal with a lot of large textures. I'd opt for more storage, but I didn't want to completely cripple financially. I am also very unsure about the case. I love the silver, but I don't know if it's for me. I don't want to NZXT s340 and stuff. Looks nice, but it's not for me. I need a case with at least one 5.25" bay.

I don't know, I threw it together, maybe you guys can get something better out of this. The RAM has to stay, and so does the M.2 SSD.

I would go with a EVGA G2/G3 instead of that PSU(not saying its bad, i have no experiance with it... the EVGA ones are T1.)

The RMx series is directly on par with the G2.

I don't look tier lists, either. I look at professional reviews only.

http://www.jonnyguru.com/modules.php?name=NDReviews&op=Story6&reid=380 EVGA G2 is a godlike PSU as well as the G3

But the Corsair PSU is also godlike: http://www.jonnyguru.com/modules.php?name=NDReviews&op=Story6&reid=452

I don't know if I'd go with that case, but it's hard to suggest one since everyone's tastes are different. P400 maybe?

Why do you need a 5.25" drive bay? Internal or external?

Why do you have another wireless card?

I'd consider waiting until a proper cooler comes out, rather than spend the money twice.

Going to attach a USB 3.0 and card reader bay into it.

I don't know about the case. I really like the silver, but that's about it. The P400 looks meh to me.

Another wireless card? Does the motherboard come with one or something?

That's kind of what I am doing. The CPU cooler is just a placeholder, really.

  • You'd have a lot more options if you just used a US 3.0 card reader. They also support microSD and regular SD. Most cases come with front USB 3.0 ports.
  • Yes, that's what the AC in the name stands for...it even shows the card in the pictures.

Ah, that's neat. And I didn't see it in the pictures. This motherboard looks okay. I am waiting to see different motherboards come out. The Zenith is nice, but way too pricey. And I know the case would come with a USB 3.0, but I've read those those 3.0 ports are faster (Is this true?) on the drive.

I highly doubt it considering they both connect to the motherboard in the same spot with a USB 3.0 cable...
