I got the word of a program called "nicehash" which is used for cryptocurrency mining and generates money for me while I'm not using the PC. So I tried it on my gaming rig and the first thing I noticed was that it stresses the shit out of my CPU/GPU. My question is, can the fact that it's 100% load all the time damage my components? Even if the temps are ok? As I'm writing this it's mining and the GPU is at a comfortable 53ºC and my CPU is at 44ºC. Fans for the GPU are at 100% and it has its core OC by 175 MHz and the memory clock by 750 MHz. I have a 1060 6 GB and a i5-6600.

(Sorry if this is not the correct category)

Funny i have the exact same hardware, anyways you might not want to leave it all night at full load because if its at full load entire time it could start to damage especially if its running even at 40 celcius for extended periods of time, mining like this overnight will reduce life time especially the fans on the gpu if they are at load for 8 hours (estimate) but if your temps are around mid 40s and your can downclock it so you still make a profit but small margin you should do that. Heat will always damage components no matter what

I guess it's a pretty common config for mid-range users :D.

Sure, heat damages components, but in summer those are my idle temps, so I was wondering if that is really a problem. I haven't really used it that much, but I'm thinking on buying a game with the money hahaha. And reducing lifespan can be an issue or not, because if it reduces from 10 years to 6 years it's irrelevant, since in 6 years I will already have a new PC and this one will be obsolete (specially the GPU).

if for one year you let the gpu run at 100% load 8 hours a day your running you graphics card is 2920 hours thats a lot and that can reduce the graphics card life by a lot something to keep in mind

Also keep it in good condition, sell it used for a good price and buy a new graphics card for a lot less or a bunch of games

you're fine. It would be the same as playing games for that long. also like you were saying it will reduce its lifespan but not enough to matter. also at 40 degrees Celsius it would not be harmful. if you were more near 80 something Celsius that is when you have to worry.

Sure, but does the load also damage the chip or just temperature? because in the summer when I have it idling (which is most of the day) it's at the same temperature (it turns the fans off) as it is while mining, so if it's just the temperature mining in this time of the year it's the same as having it idling during the summer.

It shouldn't damage the lifespan that much. Back in 2014 I bought a few 7950 cards that had been used in a Bitcoin mining rig 24/7. Those cards are still alive and powering my friends rig to this day. The only issue I had with the cards is that one of the fans died soon after I got it (probably because it was at 100% for months lol). I would say go ahead.

Main Desktop: Core i7-12700K | 64 GB RAM | MSI Z790 Tomahawk DDR4 | Radeon RX 6900 XT | 2x4TB + 2TB SSD

Secondary Desktop: Core i9-12900HX (ES) | 32 GB RAM | ASUS Z690 TUF DDR4 | GeForce RTX 3060 Ti | 2TB SSD
Server: Ryzen 9 5950X | 128 GB RAM | ASUS Crosshair VII Hero | GeForce RTX 3060 | 6 TB assorted SSD + 5x10TB & 2x4TB HDD

Baller X79 Rig: Xeon E5-1680v2 | 32 GB RAM | ASUS Rampage IV Extreme | 2x GTX 980 Ti SLI | 1TB SSD

Laptop: Core i9-13950HX | 32 GB RAM | MSI Raider GE78HX | GeForce RTX 4070 | 2 TB SSD

And a lot more PCs I am not going to individually list (i am a hoarder)

I think it does, but insignificant. At least most of the wear is on the fan motors and bearings, not the core.

Well... I rather damage the fans than the core lol. And I don't have it on ALL day, just a few hours, or maybe I don't mine for days (Though when the profitability is high I tend to leave it on more than usual)
