asus poseidon 1080 ti sli hd slot width bridge

Hey folks!

I am wanting to SLI a asus poseidon 1080 ti on a maximus IX extreme.  Does anyone know or can guesstimate the slot width size of bridge I'd have to pick up?  I am having a hard time finding any documentation on this.

I also attempted to ask ASUS customer support, but they were no help whatsoever.

1 slot spacing is what you need.

Given Poseidon is 2.5 slots total [one PCIe x1/x3 lane is disabled due to this reason]... that be the better choice.

keep prompting them, persistence is key... they deal with a crap ton of requests, by being persistent most likely [not guarantee-ing] they will attend to you quicker ... afaik

  • 2 months later...

The SLI bridge that comes with the motherboard will work. It's a highbandwidth bridge and I currently have my two ASUS Poseidon cards running on my Maximus IX Formula using this bridge. I am prepping a second computer to handle this setup on water. See the specs below.

Phantek Enthoo Elite case, ASUS Maximus IX Extreme, Intel i7 7700k processor, 32Gb G Skill Trident Z 3000Mhz RGB memory, 2 ASUS Poseidon GTX 1080 TI video cards, Samsung 1TB 960 pro, Samsung 1TB 950 SSD and a Corsair AX12000i power supply. 2 Coolstream 360XE radiators in push/pull utilizing 12 Corsair HD120 fans, 2 EK DDC 3.2 pumps with x tops, 2 EK 3 150 reservoirs and 4 Corsair SP140 upper case fans and 2 Corsair AF140 case fans in the lower case.

This is two separate loops with one running the GPUs in parallel and the second loop cooling the Bitspower monoblock for the CPU and NVMe. Later I will be adding a mini ITX board coupled with my Strix GTX 1080 Ti using an EK GPU water block and the new multicore CPU will be cooled by my EK supremacy EVO water block. Those will be coupled with 32Gb of Corsair Dominator Platinum 3200 Mhz ram, Samsung 1TB 960 pro, a Samsung 512 Gb 950 SSD and Corsair HX750i power .supply
