What to do when CPU fails

Go to solution Solved by AnonymousGuy,

Completely unplug the computer for a few minutes (from the wall), and then try again.

Also do a Clear CMOS / bios reset.

So i was running aida64 on a overclock i just did (Ryzen 7 1700 - 3,8ghz - 1,280v) and during the test the cpu failed. Or so the EZ debug led's on my MSI motherboard said. My screen went black, and i can't turn of the computer using the power on/off button. What do i do?

Specs:

Ryzen 7 17G

Gigabyte Gtx 1080 arous+

EVGA 750w BQ

MSI gaming b350 pro carbon

2x8gb corsair vengeance RGB ram

Did you reset the CMOS settings by taking out the battery or some switch if you have it?

Probably hold the power button to force the computer to shut down before you attempt to remove the cmos battery, though.
