Sound card to go with ATH-M50s

Hi guys,

I am planning on buying the ATH-M50 from Audio Technica to step up my music listening game. Only problem is i think my on-board audio card (mobo Gigabyte z87-HD3) is pretty shitty. So i think about buying an additional sound card or other device that will drastically improve my listening experience. I am definitely no expert with audio, so any tips, buying advices and tricks are welcome :)

I don't have a very big budget, much higher than $50 won't do it for me.

Thanks!

Not? So i don't get a major improvement from an external audio card?

Thanks for the quick reply btw.

Save up for a FiiO E10 or E7k if you believe you need an improvement - don't bother with anything else.

The ATH-M50 is very efficient, so I would stick with what you already have. You can read up more on making sure you are getting the most quality sound out of your existing setup by checking out the sticky post at the top of this subforum.
