Well those two do often get compared. They are both Chinese made tube AMPs. The Darkvoice has more power than the MK2, which is why it will run hotter and is larger. The Darkvoice is a much warmer sounding tube AMP than the MK2. Now most people are not super impressed with the Darkvoice stock, it s a very common AMP for tube rolling. Many people replace the tubes and love the thing after that.

Yea I am interested in tube rolling whichever amp I decide to get. Any suggestions on tubes for either? Or should I go to headfi and ask around?

When it comes to tube rolling that's where my knowledge ends to be frank with you. I would go ask around with people who know more about that than me. Only thing I know is that a certain RCA tube is popular with the Darkvoice
