hi thanks your the reply, why do i need to get the cheapest? and how does it compare to the other brand?

A 1050 is a low end card, there is virtually no difference from the models as there isn't much more juice to squeeze out of it, if you can afford 170$ then get a 1050ti as it'll be worth it, a card that least can play games fine on low to medium, the 1050 has only 2gb of VRAM which is very limiting for nowadays.

Isn't that game like, 10 years old, though? I think you would be fine with either card.

To answer your original question, any aftermarket coolers are fine. Just don't get the ones that look like Image result for msi compact 1050

yes it was 10 years ago i  really loved the game but there is just 1 problem the water effect is not properly rendered, i asked in the game forum and they said i should get the NVDIA graphics card. so i thought its the best time to solve the issue by also upgrading with NVIDIA. should i go with 1050ti?

Is $170 like, some spare money you have, or is it the absolute max you can spend? If you would prefer to spend less I would go with the 1050, and if you can afford it, go with the 1050 Ti. Neither of those is going to have trouble with that game. It just depends on how much you're willing to spend and whether or not you plan on playing any other games in the future. There isn't the biggest performance gap between the two.

From a 4870 X2, either of those is going to be an upgrade.

They're for small form-factor cases, so not ideal for most users. They have poor thermal performance.

You can usually pick up a EVGA 1050ti SSC for under 170 at BestBuy (I know most people hate BestBuy). But it's easy and quick. I have one in my second computer, and it never seems to have any issues.

Go for the cheapest, the OC SSC FTW models comes just with a bit more factory overclock, you can reach that speed with a non OC SSC FTW model... well those models are only for EVGA, but they're the same for every brand.

If you want a 1050 you can get this https://pcpartpicker.com/product/DQL7YJ/pny-geforce-gtx-1050-2gb-video-card-vcggtx10502pb.

But if you wanna spend $170 on a GPU then go for a 1050Ti which is far better than a 1080, the cheapest one is this https://pcpartpicker.com/product/DQL7YJ/pny-geforce-gtx-1050-2gb-video-card-vcggtx10502pb

CPU: Ryzen 5 5600x | MB: Asus TUF Gaming B550-Plus | RAM: Crucial Ballistix RGB 16Gb 3200Mhz | GPU: Gigabyte GTX 1080 Windforce | Cooler: Scythe Fuma 2 | PSU: EVGA SuperNOVA 650 G2 | SSD: Crucial MX300 275Gb | HDD: WD Black 2Tb | Monitor: LG 27GL83A
