Building my brother a PC

sniksder16

So i want to build my brother a PC. I came up with this : http://pcpartpicker.com/user/Sniksder16/saved/2XUH I want to keep it around 1000 and this list is a bit over my budget but i may be able to do it since it has a monitor and windows 8 (dont feel comfortable torrenting a OS and he doesn want linux). He doesnt need much storage in the build as i have a few hard drives laying around but i do want to get him a new ssd. Any tips/changes to cut some money off of it? I am hoping that Cyber-Monday i can at least cut 100 off if i see some deals.

What's the system being used for?

Looks very solid. What CPU cooler are you going to use? Most of the coolers come with good thermal paste already.

who cares...

Ok i was thinking about getting him a H60 for now, or just not get him one until later/him buying it. He could hold off on overclocking until then. If i get him one now it would have to be less than $50.

Quite a bit cheaper with similar performance: http://pcpartpicker.com/p/2ai5K

Would reccomend buying a copy of windows 7, so much more user friendly and easier to use for gaming. Personally I would go with the build that Playground Accessory has shown you.

CPU: i5 3570k                                 PSU: CX650 Corsair                 SSD: 128GB Samsung 840

RAM: 16GB Corsair Vengeance     Case: Zalman Z11                    HDD: 500Gb Toshiba & 1TB Western Digital

MOBO: ASrock Extreme 4 Z77        GPU: GTX 770

If you could add $100 anywhere in that build where would you add it?

Also thanks everyone for the help, anyone know how much to expect from Cyber monday sales or will it not help that much?

I'd get a 2nd display for productivity.

Sales will probably help. We're not wizards though.
