Worth start to mine

Hi there!

Yesterday i chose to get into mining, and i have been reading some about it. I'm slow but surely getting the basics of it, but i'm not 100% into what kind of hardware i takes...

So here is the question:

Should i build a computer with 2-3 graphics cards, or would i be better of with this: https://products.butterflylabs.com/25-gh-s-bitcoin-miner.html

And would it pay off? Or is it like throwing money out the window?

If it is profitable I will eventually upgrade

Thanks!

From what I have read it won't really pay off fast.

Maybe, possibly, but the money you spend on such a system takes a while to get back.

From what I understand it takes a long time to mine 1 Bitcoin.

Do not purchase an ASIC, especially one from BFL (one of the worst companies in mining world) You can give this a read as well. http://www.reddit.com/r/Bitcoin/comments/1oto74/thinking_of_ordering_an_asic_there_is_most_likely/

Mining Litecoin is definitely profitable right now. It's best done high end AMD GPU's such as 7950's and 7970's give the best $ per hash.

You can look up and compare various hardware hashrates. https://litecoin.info/Mining_Hardware_Comparison

Add up your current GPU and see what you come up with in a calculator. For example a single 7970 can mine at 730 K/hash. .462 Litecoins = $18.52 Per day. Prices and mining difficulty can have quick unexpected swings increasing or decreasing mining profits.

You keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means.
Users cannot, and will not securely manage key material. Most users can't and the ones that can, wont.

Ask me about Bitcoin, Litecoin, Crypto-Currencies, and/or Mining them.

Thanks a lot! So i would be better off buying a new computer with 2 7950's. Rather than buy some sort of machine you plug into a computer?

And what is the most efficent way of mining; GPU?

One final question, what is Litecoin? :)

Thanks!
