x299 new x299 system won't post

What is your parts list?

 

2x strix 1080 Ti with waterblock (I know 1 of them works 100% because I've used it in the past)

7900x delidded from caseking.de

asus prime deluxe

2x 16 GB gskill ripjaws 3200mhz 16cl

m.2 nvme ssd

corsair ax1500i

Oh boy. After finally completing the build I plugged the 24pin cable into the motherboard and started my PC,

all motherboard lights turn on, my monitor sais there is no signal; ASUS q code error on the LED display has a little CPU picture on it and the code is 00 which research has shown to mean it can't even get passed the first step.

As I was filling my watercooling loop I jumpered the 24pin cable and could fill my loop, have fans running all no bother.

List anything you've done in attempt to diagnose or fix the problem.

1. A single ram stick in every configuration
2. replaced displayport cable and replugged it into every display port on the (2) GPUs
3. Used the reset button and turn on button on motherboard
4. Cleared cmos.
5. Replaced all cables used from PSU, (I know PSU works from previous build)
6. Removed the 8x power cable to the cpu, resulting in a red light turning of indicating me to plug it in.

I've built a few systems before so I doubt that my incompetence is the issue, I'd be happy if it was though

from my research error code 00 means either the CPU or the motherboard is at fault..

I'm all out of ideas.

use cpu in another motherboard if possible, id say get a return on the cpu... but delid

Should be able to get a return, ask the company, or go to intel/

never build inside the case before you are 100% sure all components are working

did you get warranty for that delided CPU? was it tested after the delid process?

new to this forum so I've no idea if this is how you reply.. My new rig as seen in the images is watercooled so there is no way of cooling it outside.. I got a 2 year warranty from the delidded cpu, just not sure if I should send back the CPU or the motherboard first, eitherways one of them seem to be the issue

if it's watercooled what!? you don't make sure the components actually work before? especially when you're doing a custom loop

components can arrive DOA, it's a thing

you said you are using 2 gpu's. Are you using a 2-way sli bridge and try taking one out.

how do I check them if I do not have a compatible air cooler for the CPU? I wouldn't dare turning it on without it's heatsink/cooler

using a HB 2 way SLi bridge, I REALLY doubt it's got something to do with it though, especially since the CPU is the first thing it tries to initialise and it's already failing on that

Also, try using the onboard graphics. O that's right x299 doesn't have them. AHH intel

I think my best option is getting another CPU and trying it out, I'll remove the SLi bridge but removing the GPU without completely dismantling the loop is impossible :l

Ahh you have a custom loop. That's a bummer. You should always test with air before you go underwater.

If you haven't already, recheck the CPU seating. With the CPU out, visually inspect the socket for any damage to pins.

the first motherboard I've received had 3 bent pings which felt impossible to rebend, sent it back and I can definetly tell this one has no bent pins, at least not visible

I received an asus mobo that was bent. I built a pc for a friend. Like everything still worked fine on it. Just that it had a curve in it. Check for that. unlikely though
