CM Xornet-style mouse shell replacement

MechPilot524

I want to take the red shell off my Spawn and install it onto a new Xornet II. However, I don't know much about how the design may have changed. The shell may not be compatible, for example, or removing it could be an irreversible step. Is there anyone who knows enough about the evolution of the "ergonomic claw grip" series of Cooler Master mice from the Spawn to the Xornet 1 and 2? Are they similar enough for me to transplant the shell from my Spawn onto a new Xornet?

Pictures for reference, the Xornet seems a bit longer relative to width assuming pictures aren't altered, but I want someone with some knowledge to verify please:

In case this won't work, I'd welcome feedback regarding the following:

- The Spawn was marketed to have a special ultra-step encoder on the scroll wheel, and I bet something related to that has broken. If anyone knows how I can fix it, I'm all ears, keep in mind though I'm only equipped with a bunch of screwdrivers. No soldering or Dremel work.

- Corsair Sabre or M65? Which, if you're a claw/fingertip gripper, do you prefer?
