My new PC

Hello, my laptop recently crashed and the cost for repair didn't seem worth it anymore so i decided that it was time for a new pc. Since i already used my laptop pretty much as a desktop i decided that i wanted to build my own pc as this would be a lot cheaper and would be interesting. I don't really know what are good parts to pick though. So i made a list on a website. https://pcpartpicker.com/list/p8jg7h .

Can anyone give any tips or recommendations on this build and possible changes. Please keep in mind that my budget is about 1000$. Thanks in advance.

https://pcpartpicker.com/list/hVmJ4C Actually there are a few more things I changed around. 1060 prices are higher right now but hopefully in around a month or so they should go back down. If you can fit it in the budget try getting a nicer case (s340?) but you'll be fine with the current one

Ryzen needs faster ram, get a windows key from kinguin, get this mobo it comes with a free case

Here is a great deal on the GIGABYTE GA-AX370-Gaming (rev. 1.0) AM4 AMD X370 SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.1 HDMI ATX AMD Motherboard , http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=n82e16813145009
 I found.

What do you mean by Ryzen needs faster ram? That I shouldn't buy a Ryzen at all or that i should switch the 1400 for a better one?

Can you explain exactly why a different case would be better? And what price do you expect the price of the 1060 to go down to because right now it's almost twice the price of a 1050.

General updates: I am pretty sure i will switch the 1400 for a 1600. I'm also going to buy windows 10 of kinguin since that's way cheaper. I also changed the monitor to the cheapest 1920x1080 they had but if you have some good reasons to buy a different one i will definitely consider that. The current list looks like this (keep in mind that i haven't really looked at the power supply, motherboard and case because i have no idea about them): https://pcpartpicker.com/list/pMWw2R

I have a few questions about this build. First of all why did you choose for the more expensive RAM? (sorry if this sounds stupid but i though 16GB was 16GB) Secondly, what makes you choose this powersupply (please just give my any information on it, i have no idea what makes a good powersupply). And lastly why did you choose this monitor. Its a lot more expensive than the one on my list (the new list I posted in my general updates) and also has a response time of 5 ms (I didn't really look at any othet specifics for the monitor because again i don't really know much about computers). Thanks in advance.

The RAM is more expensive since it has higher speeds (Your original one said "2400" and this one is 3200) This is since Ryzen works better with higher speed RAM. If you go to the powersupply sub forum and then go to the "PSU Tier List" you can see which power supplies are better. The reason I chose the CXM 550W for your build (in my list) is because its a decent rating (3) and its pretty good (using the 450W right now) not to mention its selling for like $10-20 cheaper that normal.

Thanks for clarifying, I now understand the RAM thing and have changed it in my build. I'm now going to look into the PSU.
