With ASRock you’d be lucky if they do respond. Worst motherboard maker hands down

Are you sure? I heard it's the best overclocking b350, I mean I could sport for a different brand or something but I've heard good things about the pro4.

They're a good board maker, but their customer support is pretty bad.

Would it be a bad idea to buy from them because of that then?

Not necessarily, but if something does go wrong, it can be a pain getting things sorted when customer support is bad. I'd rather take a decent board with bad customer service than a crappy board with decent customer service. A lot of the time you'll never actually need to contact customer service, but if you do it can be frustrating.

I've never actually had to go through customer service for a motherboard, but have for coolers and monitors. Good and quick customer service does make a big difference when you need it. I've had excellent experience with Corsair when LEDs kept breaking on the H100i and such bad experience with Acer that I just gave up trying to get the monitor fixed or replaced. That said, I still buy products from Acer because they're generally pretty good at a good price.

I've had a bad history with Asrock products, and a worse one with their customer support... So far I haven't had to deal with customer support from other manufacturers, fwiw

it would be more apt to say "the best" board with bad customer service vs a decent board with good customer service, because gigabyte and asus make good boards, I've heard msi is crappy with ryzen but I haven't been watching news all that closely...

Gigabyte and Asus make both good and bad boards, as do pretty much all companies with any products. I feel like the PC component market is too reliant on whether an entire brand is good or not. In the vast majority of cases they have a mixed bad of products, so can't really be said to be outright reliable or outright unreliable.

I guess there are trends though, and you can somewhat choose by brand at certain price points. MSI, for example, makes some very good high end boards but they tend to cut corners in important places like power delivery on their cheaper boards and instead put the money into looks and marketing. ASRock, from what I've seen of them, tends to not cut corners in important places on the cheaper boards but they can kind of suck on the looks, marketing and support side of things.

Good point, I don't really buy the low end stuff because I figure it's lower quality, I buy somewhere in the mid range because expensive mobos are more about bells and whistles than actual core functionality (though they do get improvements there as well, just not cost effective like) and I tend to not have issues, except with Asrock who I've dealt with issues 4 times, once on my first board, twice on the second, and once on a friends helping them with their issues, it's a small sample size but saving a few bucks, as asrock boards tend to fall a little cheaper than other brands, just ain't worth that headache
