So I was looking around try to see what monitors to get for my rig and decided that I wanted a 144hz 1440p display. I leaned towards the Dell s2717dg becaue it looked real nice and could be over clocked to 165hxz and includes g-sync . Plus it comes at a reasonable price . Any other competitors around the price range of the dell that are a better grab. Only bad thing I could think of is that it's a tn panel but I don't care to much about these ips and tn panels wars I'm not going to be looking at my monitor at an angle and I would rather a  tn for gaming.so if you guys can give me other options near the same piece range that would be awesome ! Also if you guys could tell me what's best for gaming 24' or 27' don't mind spending extra for a 27' if it is better or if it's just all preference related :) thanks

27" is a good size for 1440p. There's no significant difference as far as gaming goes. When the difference is merely in panel size, it's just a matter of personal preference. If you have the desk space, enjoy that 27". Dell's priced fairly competitively at this range. There are a few other options but most are more...gamer-y.

The S2716DG is a good monitor. It may have a TN panel but it's certainly one of the better ones out there, especially after you tweak the colour settings.

I'd consider 27" to be ideal for 1440p.

Okay, you meant the S2417DG which is the 24" one. The S2716DG I'm talking about is the 27" variant.

Like I said before, having a 27" monitor for 1440p is ideal.
