eGPU set up help!

I have an monitor I want to run off my i7 intel core 2015 Macbook air, I can easily run the monitor off the integrated intel graphics but I have a desktop 1050ti gpu and a spare motherboard. Is it possible to run the GPU off the motherboard into the monitor (With a PSU of course), but run the CPU and processing off the Macbook? Please help!

no ... you got to have a CPU and ram on the board ... 

 

or just forget the board and buy a thunderbolt gpu case 

 

i guess getting a CPU and ram for the mainboard would be cheaper than the eGPU case tho

that basically becomes its own pc doesn't it  eGPU cases are really up there and I'm a student!

Why not go full PC? A G4560 costs $60 and  8gb of ddr4 around $40.  If you already have a power supply and case then the resulting PC will likely be on par or better in CPU performance to your laptop and it would have a 1050 ti

Have thought about it, but cost wise for getting a fresh copy of Windows and storage, and case and PSU would all just add up. Thank you for your time guys

and also free.  Though I really shouldn't be talking about OS's, I just finished my first custom loop yet I'm running de-activated win10 with the little watermark in the bottom right.
