I have an old 3930k  i am looking forward to put it into use

 

can anybody suggest any good used motherboard. Will it go fine with X79 motherboard ??

Yes X79 will work if BIOS is updated

not worth it, sell that CPU, get a Ryzen system.

all i have to get is a motherboard with 3930k . if i go for ryzen i will have to buy a processor , motherboard , new DDR4 ram

Yeah but R5 1600 doesn't have the same ring as INTEL EXTREME 3930K

No.  X79 needed updates to support Ivy bridge-E.  This is Sandy Bridge-E, they'll all support Sandy Bridge-E out of the box.

 

OP: Here's your problem;  X79 mobos are highly desirable and thus they are expensive, even today.

I feel you. I still run a 3930k and it rocks. Any x79 board should work. I use a rampage 4 but you can find cheaper.

 

It is very old though, so new features are lacking. But go for it. With x299 people should be selling x79 boards.
