What are the differences between the b350 and x370 boards, specifically the ab350 pro4 and the asus prime x370. Will I be able to stable ~4ghz with my pro4? Im just paranoid that I made a mistake in getting the b350 over the x370 and if it is really worth it I will spend the extra 60 and return my b350 (ex-better memory compatibility, better cpu oc by a big margin, etc)

If it's the asrock AB350 Pro4 that you have. It's a good board for overclocking.

Unless you want to push an R7 to the limit with an AIO or custom WC it's not worth spending the extra money.

A 4Ghz OC should be possible regardless what cpu you have if the silicon lottery was nice to you.

If you want my attention, quote meh! D: or just stick an @samcool55 in your post :3

Well eventually I may get CW when I have more money but they only go to ~4 anyways.... Also CW is more for the GPU tbh

The Pro4's VRM should have a higher current capacity than the one on the Prime. 3 phases in a halfbaked doubling scheme vs 4 pure phases with similarly low-end mosfets; for an 8-core I'd go with the "doubled" 3 phase. A different X370 board might provide some slight overclocking advantages, but if anything the Asus might be a downgrade.

Ryzen doesn't care much about clean power for ambient OC's anyways.

It's more about the quality of the board than anything else.  I got an x370 board because it was the best MATX board available at the time (and still is) but it's basically the same as all the other offerings.

The instant an aorus or strix board comes out in the matx ff my x370 gt3 is gone, gone, gone.

Want to custom loop?  Ask me more if you are curious

It's got a doubled 3 phase, excellent VRM cooling and has good reviews, it was my first pick before I blew the extra 50 on biostar offering.

Was it worth it? Not really :P
