SSD mounting question

i have noticed that some SSD's say they are for vertical mounting, and some do not. does it REALLY make a difference?

Yup. You could mount it to a rotating helicopter blade and it wouldn't care.

Would be tricky. You'd have to have one of those cable thingies on BMX bikes that keep the cable from tangling, but a super complex one that could provide SATA power and data. The point is not that you should, but that it wouldn't effect the drive.

well at that point it IS using wireless sata so they would be trying to brute force the encryption or jam it for you to not access it

no, it does not make any difference. i mount it upside down

Yeah.... I suppose it's not the best idea. But imagine how massive or a RAID array you could fit on (or better, inside) helicopter rotors. That's a job for Tony Stark though.

If you think about it, tablets and phones and flash drives all use solid state flash storage, and they get jumbled all around and carried in all sorts of positions, so the it shouldn't cause any problems with a PC SSD.

my ipad air is faster at browsing the internet than my core duo laptop

 

still not using that for browsing the internet. i cant type for shit on that, and the animations are 15 fps mush (ios 9.3.3)
