Use 5k iMac chassis for custom PC?

Yes, I realize this probably isn't cost effective, but I was curious if it was manageable. I saw an 5k iMac for part on Craigslist had the classic thought, "but it's not upgradable... or is it?" New to building PC's and though that before diving way too deep I'd ask around about the idea first. I'm assuming that this could be done, but with laptop components and some case mods. Just wondering if there would be any proprietary Apple cables that would keep you from using the 5k display. Or any other glaring issues I'm not thinking of for that matter.

I would say 100% do not do, but Linus kind of has a teardown of it and im sure ifixit does too. If you wanna look into it any farther go there.

I have a friend who turned a older 21" iMac into a RetroPie machine.  It was actually pretty easy to do because a cheap LCD controller card off ebay worked perfect with the lower resolution 21" screen but I have no idea if there's a controller available that would work with a 5k panel even scaling down to something like 1080p..
