I have a small wiring job but im unsure how to go about it. here 2 pics of 2 different wires. the one connected is just n extention cord been cut to fit a regular light socket.

 

i want to use this cord

Got a multimeter with you? The most important one is the earth, make sure the ground pin on the plug has a connection to the metal chassis of the light

They're pretty cheap, I'd suggest picking one up. Even a basic multimeter would do.
