I was wondering, are all the tripod mounts on DSLRs (and SLRs) all the same?

I behold myself a beautifull SLR (yes, not digital, shoots on colour 35mm) Pentacon Praktica L and wanted to buy myself a cheap tripod considering I'm quite new to photography (later on I plan on purchasing something a bit more expensive, but for now this will do).

I found this e-bay listing which claims it fits several Nikon models, which makes me wonder: if he mentions the nikon models does that mean my Praktica (which has a regular tripod mount) won't fit there? So I was wondering does any1 know will my Praktica fit on here considering it has a regular normal tripod mount on itself.

This is the ebay listing I was talking about: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Stativ-Tripod-TA30-125cm-SCHWARZ-BLACK-f-Nikon-D3200-D3100-D5200-D5100-D40-/191892064111?hash=item2cada8876f:g:V3YAAOSwhQhY14E1#shpCntId

yes, they are all the same. The title is probably just to gain attention. The only thing I'm wondering is for what that extra pin on the mounting plate is.

Some cameras have a extra hole in the bottom to keep them from rotating

Just to elaborate further, while on cameras the quick release plate mounting screw threads should all be the same size, quick release systems are not all the same.

I recommend not getting that cheap one. If you dont have more money right now, just wait until you have. Those cheap tripods will just break easily, and will sway with just little bot of weak wind.

That thing would wobble like crazy with a kodak one use camera you could get from a kiosk in the 1990s, an older slr... just handhold it instead!
