I was looking to buy some USB enclosures/hard drives. I need at least 4tb. I was looking at WD MyBook enclosures, the duo and solo drive models.

These are the two I was looking at:

I have like 200-250 dollars. What are some reccomendations?

Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

I really don't know, whatever is faster. I dont care about data redundancies as I have a dedicated "Only backup" drive that I plug in only to backup for important files.

Get a internal HDD and enclosure separately. You'll be glad that you did.

Any suggestions for those then? Also for that same amount of storage wouldnt it cost more?

So that I can easily use the drive for other purposes if needed, thats why I looked at the WD MyBook duo as its easily user-replaceable.

id just buy an internal drive if i was you, and get a sata to udb 3.0 conection

Alright I'll go do that. Would it be faster than the normal external hard drive?
