Well...what's your current headset and GPU? Are they both "crap"? Personally I would go for the GPU, but depending on your current setup, that is up to you.

I live in the middle of a desert with no air conditioning. Two 220 watt cards push out a lot of heat and make my already hot (45C) room hotter (50-55C depending on the day)

What is your current GPU? And if you are choosing between the headset and GPU, are you actually choosing the 7870?
Then just get the GPU first

Since you don't actually NEED either, I'd suggest Paypaling me the cash so I can buy one or the other lol.

But seriously, with what you already have I'd get the GPU.

I agree with him. But paypal me the cash.

Life is pain. Anyone who says any different is either selling something or the government.

Buy the GPU and a testbench and use the card at idle as A/C.

I would get the headphones, but you already have some pretty cool stuff.

Friend owes me roughly $300, so when he pays up, I get the headphones and let my younger sister use the 449's. And soon, after the prices shift because of the 7790, I will get the 7870.

My room burns at 35c in the middle of the afternoon, my GPU runs at around 50c, I haven't really tested it on full load or anything. But I know my CPU runs at 62c full load. I should test this come to think of it.

If you already have 2 570s I'd go the audio route as breakthroughs in audio gear don't come out nearly as often as a new gpu

Will work for electronic components and parts

I'm not talking temps of my computer, these are what my thermometer reads, or the Weather Channel says it will be.

Your opinion matters, if you would like to give any suggestions as to a different pair of legitimate headphones in the $350, I will take that opinion into consideration when the time comes to purchase the headphones.
