$1000 Xeon better that i5?

So i have a friend whos selling a $1000 Xeon (Link Below) for $208. I have a i5 3570K right now and i was wondering if this one would perform better, i would also get a P9X79 motherboard and i would move from 1155 to 2011 and have the chance to upgrade to Haswell-E later on.

for that price, I would just get it. It still depends on what you will be using your rig for however.

For right now gaming and i have a 3570K at 40Ghz however i plan to do pic & vid editing and coding later on, Still a good deal?

get it and use it if you plan to do some high end video editing of sorts. Xeon would help with that. You could sell your 3570k too for some spare money as well if you wanted too

Those CPUs are not meant for gaming rather more for editing and server application. I'd get it for the hell of it and fold with. Sell it. Whichever is good.

Why not to go wit 4770k for 200$ at microcenter since you live in US? It will be a much better buy since youre only gaming and Xeon is kinda server grade CPU...

I would have to sell my i5 to get this, i might be able to resell for alot more but if i was stuck with it would it be an upgrade or just something to have?

More or less. But that doesn't change how the Xeon will preform in games. It will be worse than the i5.

Also, the cpu is on a whole different platform and will require a new motherboard (marginally more expensive than the motherboards for 1155 or 1150)

Dam, i kinda just wanted it because it was so cheap. So not something u would recommend staying with for a little while. However i could sell my i5 and mobo, get that cpu and mobo then sell the cpu and get a ivybride-e cpu couldnt i. I could at least sell it for like $350-400 right?
