Hello! I recently bought a 29um58-p, but it didn't come with a power cable. I looked online, and found this one that says it's a 19V/3.42A adapter. Is this correct? Is this the only amount it will run at? I have a 19V/4.6A adapter for example, and it LOOKS like it has the same end, but I don't want to risk damaging my equipment. Should I just pick up a generic adapter at 19V/3.42A?

Depending on the adapter, that 4.6A rating is either a max output, or the only amount of power it can output (if that makes any sense)

Some adapters are smarter and can run at lower then rated amperage. BUT for a $250+ monitor I'm not sure if I would trust anything but the original. Usually I only recommend trying a higher power adapter on something inexpensive like an old network switch, etc.

TL;DR

Buy the LG one, use that one.

Fine you want the PSU tier list? Have the PSU tier list: https://linustechtips.com/main/topic/1116640-psu-tier-list-40-rev-103/

Electric current ratings are up to the rated value, so an adapter that can handle up to 4.6 A will also handle anything below it, 3 A, 2 A, whatever.

Pretty sure it's supposed to come with a power cable  http://www.lg.com/us/monitors/lg-29UM58-P-ultrawide-monitor

Maybe ask the retailer you bought it from or contact LG
