Yes and no. It's generally best to match all specs as close as possible (speed, timings, capacity, voltage etc.) but if they're not from the same kit, even if they're the same model from the same brand, they're not certain to work together. While most of the time RAM will work together as long as the specs match, there's always a possibility of it not working if they're not sold as a single kit. 

 

There's no system implemented to prevent RAM from different brands working together if that's what you're thinking.

More than likely. Its not ideal, but it will likely work. Our memtest machine didn't give two shits what was put in it, an 8GB 1600 with a 1GB 1066 was fine, I'm sure the timings were different too.

 

TL;DR it will probably work, but its not ideal.

Yeah it'll work,  The ram will de clock to the lowest speed/Timing. If its a DDR3 system I wouldn't worry to much about ram speed anyways, if its DDR4 than rather match as they can OC to stupid speeds
