cpu decision help

I am building a pc for my friend and I was wondering if ryzen is really worth it over an Intel CPU for gaming, he won't be doing anything like photo or video editing just gaming.

unless you're going for i7-7700k it probably is worth it

depend on the price, ryzen 1600 would be better on a budget but 7700k currently is the best gaming CPU on the market currently.

how much is he willing to spend ???

 

intel :  7700k ($ 310)

ryzen : 1600  ( $ 215)

 

my recommendation : 1600

7600k ?!

R5 1600 is much better in my opinion.

and its able to give same performance as an i5 7600k with 60% cpu utilisation
