windows 7 updates questions

i have 197 important windows updates. If I update now, will the pictures in my folder get corrupted? Turning my original pictures into landscape mountains, polygons and shapes (thumbnail into icons?)

No, as when you changed the rotation im pretty sure it save and replace the existing photo but you should always have an backup anyways. Have fun updating.

Files shouldn't change, but we have backups so you don't lose files if there is corruption right?

Files won't change to anything. Depending on severity of update, some cache files might be deleted to save space or speed-up things. But those will be re-created once you select file in question.
