Laptop for engineering school

Going to electrical engineering school in the fall and looking for the bare minimum to get me by while still being a powerful machine. I'll be using programs like pSpice, quartuz, and maybe a little autocad. Budget is around $800-900. If it could do some very light gaming that would also be a bonus. (CS:GO, rocket league, and Overwatch)

Look for a quad-core and, if budget allows, a dGPU and SSD.

 

Lenovo makes a few good ones like the Yoga 2-in-1's and Thinkpads.

He did say he's going in the fall, so they should be available then. They look like an insane value for the price.

Dave 2d has a good video where he rounds up multiple laptops at that price range. You should be able to get a 1050/ti at that budget

In laptops they are very similar except for some applications that benefit from hyperthreading
